A Night to Remember: LOROS Twilight Walk 2025 🌙✨

On Saturday 26th July, Leicester came alive as hundreds of people took part in the LOROS Twilight Walk 2025. This year was extra special, marking 40 years of LOROS Hospice, and the city was full of colour, energy, and community spirit.

The evening began at the King Power Stadium, where walkers set off on a 10km route through the city. Dressed in vibrant retro 80s outfits—from neon leg warmers to sequinned headbands—participants brought fun and flair to the occasion.

Behind the fancy dress was a heartfelt cause: raising vital funds for LOROS Hospice. For four decades, the hospice has provided free, compassionate care for terminally ill patients and their families across Leicestershire and Rutland. Thanks to events like this, care can continue long into the future.

The atmosphere was buzzing throughout the evening, with music, entertainment, and plenty of encouragement along the way. We were delighted to play our part by hosting a free sweet stall at the Peace Walk on the final leg of the route. It was a joy to see tired but smiling walkers stop for a quick treat to help them power through the last stretch. The excitement (and sugar boost!) added to the magic of the night.

The walk ended with a spectacular finish line celebration. Walkers were welcomed back with cheers, music, and a fantastic sense of achievement. It was more than just a walk — it was a shared moment of togetherness, remembrance, and hope.

Although the final fundraising total is still being counted, the impact is already clear. Over the past five years, Twilight Walkers have raised more than £560,000 for LOROS, and this year’s event is set to add thousands more. Every step taken, and every pound raised, helps ensure LOROS can continue its incredible work for our community.

If you couldn’t join us this time, don’t worry — the Twilight Walk will return. Whether you walk with friends, family, or in memory of someone special, it’s an unforgettable way to support a cause close to so many hearts.

💛 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who walked, donated, or cheered on the night. We loved being part of it with our sweet stall at the Peace Walk — and we can’t wait to do it all again next year.
